Reverse Raffle & Auction
“A Night Under the Giving Tree” featured a beautiful “Giving Tree” created by Shawn Rivett, event co-chair. The evening of fun began with the amazing voice of 2008-2009 State Youth of the Year Dominique Maestas singing the National Anthem and was followed by the creative talent of the Boys & Girls Club Rap Group. The evening was filled with the magic of the Giving Tree, as the auction and raffle items raised a total of $290,000 for the operation of the six Club branches.
Look for the next Reverse Raffle and Auction coming in February of 2011!
Golden Gloves Alumni Boxing Tournament
The Boxing Tournament took place on April 17th with over 500 people in attendance. The first part of the evening’s entertainment was the six “celebrity” bouts each consisting of two, 1 minute rounds. These were all great fun and energized the crowed for the 16 amateur boxing bouts with youth ranging from 8-17 yrs of age. The event was a great success and BGCCW looks forward to another boxing event in the future.
