In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming are safe places to learn and grow - all while having fun. They are truly "The Positive Place For Kids."
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming began its legacy of dedicated service to the youth of Casper in 1969, when Mrs. Wilma English moved to the community from South Dakota with her two young sons. She brought more than just possessions with her. She brought a vision for the young boys in her new community, a vision that included a strong youth organization to serve boys after school and during the summer. Her sons had both attended a Boys Club in South Dakota, and she immediately saw a need for a similar organization in Casper.
Mrs. English joined forces with two citizens who also shared her vision, John Fanto and Charles Hancock, and with their help, the Casper Boys Club was born. On November 19, 1969, the Casper Boys Club became official: it was incorporated by the State of Wyoming, with English, Fanto, and Hancock as its first officers.
In its 40 years of operation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming has made an impact on the lives of an estimated 41,000 youth. Thousands of kids will be served this year, and with the Club's continued dedication to serving the youth of Central Wyoming, we believe our impact will continue to positively affect all of the communities in which we serve.
